TSIO Nuit Blunche Paris 2024
TSIÒ is a traditional and highly respected large-scale temple celebration in Taiwan. Also known as "building a TSIÒ" or "performing a TSIÒ," it aims to send blessings, ward off disasters, and fulfill prayers for its believers. A cultural practice that visualizes the deep-rooted spirituality in Taiwan's folk culture is memorialized on the 2024 Nuit Blanche stage.
「醮」是台灣傳統且備受敬重的大型廟會慶典，又稱「建醮」或「做醮」，目的是為信眾祈福消災、實現願望。這項體現台灣民間信仰深厚根基的文化實踐，將在 2024 年白晝之夜(Nuit Blanche)的舞台上被重新詮釋、留下紀錄。
In a project layered with human touch and sensitivities, an exclamation of life is made to kickstart the upcoming Cultural Olympics. To parallel a ritual practiced honoring the wishes of its followers, this exhibition similarly hopes to send a prayer of peace to people. In an ever-evolving, tumultuous world, this space intends to help audiences find both vitality and rest in the microcosm of this Taiwanese ceremony.
這是一個充滿人性溫度與細膩情感的專案，以一聲對生命的禮讚，揭開即將到來的文化奧運序幕。呼應著信眾為實現心願所奉行的儀式，這場展覽同樣希望向人們傳遞一份和平的祈願。在這個持續變動、動盪不安的世界裡，這個空間希望能讓觀眾在這場台灣祭典的縮影中，同時找到活力與安歇。
Both the English and Chinese typography of 'tsio' retain the decorative shapes of temple roof ornaments, serving as reference elements for the font design.
「醮」字的中英文字體皆保留了廟宇屋脊裝飾的造型輪廓，作為字體設計的參考元素。
The work preserves the colors of Eastern features such as architecture, statues, and lanterns found in Taiwanese temples and blessing culture.
作品保留了台灣廟宇與祈福文化中常見的東方元素色彩，例如建築、神像與燈籠的色調。
Using minimalist and vibrant color blocks and contours, it preserves the colors of Taiwanese landscapes and employs modern techniques to depict and reshape the forms of Taiwanese deities.
